​Over the last 10 years, Wonderful Welwyn Garden City has achieved so much for our town centre, and we’re not ready to stop.

Together, we can continue making positive changes that benefit our town centre and, most importantly, YOU, the businesses that make Welwyn Garden City so special.

The Wonderful Welwyn Garden City brand is something we are incredibly proud of. It continues to go from strength to strength, positively promoting our town centre as a great place to shop, work, visit and live.

A YES Vote will help us continue to:

• Bring millions of pounds of investment into our town centre

• Deliver a calendar of events and activities that attract visitors and drive footfall

• Deliver WGC Watch and the ALERT initiative, helping protect people, businesses and profits

• Promote Welwyn Garden City through targeted marketing campaigns and destination promotion

• Enhance our town centre environment with award-winning floral displays and Christmas lights

• Support businesses with advertising, marketing and promotional opportunities

• Give businesses a stronger collective voice and ensure Welwyn Garden City has a dedicated team championing its interests

But a NO vote means change.

If the BID is not renewed, from April 2027 these initiatives and services will cease to exist.

That means saying goodbye to our signature events, the Wonderful WGC brand, the BID team, business support, town centre campaigns, security initiatives and the many other benefits that come with having a Business Improvement District.

Welwyn Garden City is entering a period of significant change as a result of the Local Government Reorganisation. With changes to local government structures, responsibilities, funding and services still developing, there is a level of uncertainty about what the future will look like for our town centre.

That makes having a strong, independent local voice more important than ever.​

NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO LOSE OUR VOICE.

The BID gives Welwyn Garden City town centre businesses a dedicated team working on their behalf,  championing the town, representing business interests and helping ensure that investment, services and support remain focused on our town centre.

With so much uncertainty surrounding the future structure of local government, renewing the BID gives businesses the opportunity to retain a dedicated team, maintain investment and continue having a strong collective voice for Welwyn Garden City town centre.
