What is a BID Ballot?
Every Business Improvement District (BID) must take part in a formal ballot at the end of each five-year term. This vote gives local businesses the opportunity to decide whether the BID should continue, ensuring its work remains supported, valued, and aligned with the needs of the area.
Welwyn Garden City BID was first established in April 2007 following a successful ballot, and has since completed two consecutive terms: 2017–2022 and our current term, 2022–2027.
In 2026, you—the businesses of Welwyn Garden City—will be asked to vote YES for another five-year BID term, helping us continue to build a bigger, brighter future for our wonderful town centre.
