Funded by local businesses through Welwyn Garden City Business Improvement District (WGC BID), and made possible with the generous support of our wonderful new sponsors, this FREE Christmas attraction will help make Wonderful Welwyn Garden City even more magical throughout the festive season.

The Christmas light installations will officially light up at 6pm on Saturday 21 November 2026, transforming the town centre into a sparkling festive destination for residents and visitors to enjoy. The free trail will remain in place until 7 January 2027, giving everyone plenty of time to discover the displays.

Whether you're planning a festive family walk, looking for the perfect Christmas photo opportunity with friends, or hoping to enjoy the lights after a spot of Christmas shopping, a delicious meal or drinks with loved ones, the Wonderful WGC Christmas Lights Trail is the perfect way to experience the magic of Christmas in Welwyn Garden City.

Make Wonderful Welwyn Garden City part of your Christmas traditions this year. Visit the town centre, explore the illuminated installations, support local businesses and enjoy a little extra festive sparkle – all completely free!
